PercyROGERSIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the sad passing of Percy Rogers at home on 15th October 2025, aged 92-years.
Percy was born in Ynyshir, Rhondda in May 1933 before marrying his late wife Glenys and moving to Nelson, South Wales in September 1961. In November 1982 Percy moved with his family to Derby with the National Coal Board. He enjoyed a wonderful and fulfilling life, immersing himself in the community as Chairman of Cancer Research UK, and as a deacon at Broadway Baptist Church to name just two interests.
Percy was a kind and loving husband to the late Glenys, father to Mark and Paul, father-in-law to the late Joanne, and Christine, grandfather to Jonathan, Rhiannon, Victoria, Ailis, Iwan, Emer and Niamh, great grandad to Sophia, brother to the late Megan and late Edna, uncle, cousin and friend to many.
He leaves a huge hole in our lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
The funeral will be held on Monday 27th October 2025. The committal will be held at Markeaton Crematorium at 1:30pm followed by a service of Thanksgiving at Broadway Baptist Church at 2:30pm.
